Rising Stars: Meet Niesha White

Today we’d like to introduce you to Niesha White.

Niesha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Nine years ago, I had a senior project due. The project was based off your goals in the next 10-15 years. I knew I always wanted to be a fashion designer and own a women’s clothing boutique. With confidence in my heart, I held my head high and believed that I was different. Not only just in general as a person but as in style too. So I completed my senior project as a boutique “Niesha’s Sassy Boutique”. I created a catalog book and business cards. I had so much faith in my dream I even reached out to The Art Institute of Charlotte to become a Fashion Designer. After looking over all of my financial options, I wasn’t able to attend. So I went to Greenville Technical College and graduated with my Associate’s Degree. I had started my career in Human Resources in 2015.

In 2019, I was moving into my new home and I found my senior project packet. I felt like I have my career and now I’m focused and still have a passion for fashion. I constantly prayed for God to show me a sign. I begin my research and May 15, 2019 I officially received my Retail license for “Mz Sassy E Boutique”. My niche is to make women feel Sassy, Fierce, and Bold. “Where Class & Sass Meets”. Beauty is confidence no matter the size so I incorporated “Mz Sassy” for ladies sizes Small- Xl. “Sassy Plus” for my plus size ladies sizes 1x-3x.

June 18, 2019, it was official I launched my business website and had my first pop up shop. I heard a lot of negativity about what others was doing and I wouldn’t be successful. I didn’t let that impact my feelings or get in the way of my dream. I had a successful launch and almost sold out of all merchandise within 2 hours of the pop up shop. I knew then this is for me all I needed to do was be motivated, always look at the bigger picture, and put God first.

I was so motivated by friends and family I even went back to school to obtain my Bachelors in Applied Management December 2020.

In my two years journey, I have faced challenges with being only online and not having a physical location. Some days things have its pros and cons to it especially going through a Pandemic.

One thing that motivates me and gets me going is being able to do something I love and have a passion for. Not feeling forced to get a traditional job just because that is the norm for everybody. Even though I am currently employed, my goal is to be a Full-Time Entrepreneur. I can walk into my boutique room after a rough day at work and my spirit is taken to another place. I love what I do and in January 2022, I will be able to continue my business full time.

Also, being in business for two years, I still have a lot of learning to do but being able to share my knowledge with business owners that have a passion for something and just need that listening ear is what motivates me to keep going. I try my best to help anyone in need of any information that I got. I love seeing successful people. To know that somebody out there is inspired by what I’m doing it makes me love what I do even more.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road have not always been smooth. My first step was trying to figure out the right direction. You probably know that you want to sell clothes and the type but things are deeper than that. I had a few ladies who really guided me in the right direction of making sure I had every legal document to run a successful business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Alongside my business, I work in the Human Resources field. I have been in Human Resources for the past six years. I specialize in Payroll, Recruiting, New Hires, and much more in HR. My passion have always been helping others. I am known for having a bright and fun spirit. My motto have always been life is too short to always be so serious. Have a sense of humor about things.

What’s next?
My plan for the future is to open up my first brick and mortar in the next year or so. I want to expand my business all over the US. I have also been planning another business service to add onto my boutique. Not quite ready to tell what it is yet but it will launch in 2022.
